Downtown Portland’s comeback The health of downtown Portland is critical to the region’s economic health and vibrancy. As it stands, strides have been made to clean up trash and graffiti and address safety concerns and open drug use. And yet, the vacancy rate in downtown office buildings remains at a record high, near 30%. PBJ Editor Suzanne Stevens will talk about strategies to address this issue and other challenges, and how those efforts might change the fabric of downtown.
