President & CEO of the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association

Jason will be joining MBA to share some of the latest stories from Oregon’s hospitality industry – Oregon’s second largest private sector employer behind health care. With over 3,000 locations in their active membership, ORLA is focused on the ongoing recovery of hospitality businesses across the state for restaurants and lodging properties of all shapes and sizes. Each local economy presents various challenges with Portland representing a key component for the state’s broader goals for growth and entrepreneurial activity. Industry members have experienced their highest highs and their lowest lows dependent on their location and business models. Join Jason and MBA to hear the latest stories from the field and his take on what’s next for hospitality experiences in Oregon moving forward.


About our Speaker: 

Jason Brandt has served as the President & CEO for the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) since August of 2015.

ORLA serves as the primary state association in Oregon for restaurants and lodging operations of all shapes and sizes with over 3,000 locations represented in their membership. The 16-member professional staff led by Jason and the 23-member board of directors strives to protect, improve, and promote Oregon’s hospitality industry.

Prior to joining the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association, Jason served on the professional staff for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce from August 2004 through July 2015 with his final 4 years at the organization as CEO. Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communication from Pacific Lutheran University.

Jason’s role as a leader for Oregon’s hospitality industry includes service on numerous boards including serving as President of the Council of State Restaurant Associations with state colleagues around the country, Oregon Business & Industry, Travel Portland, and the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling.

Jason and his wife Natalie live in Salem with their three children ages 4, 10 and 12.
