For this member meeting, we'll welcome the Chief Deputy of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, James Eriksen. He will give a presentation on general crime stats of the area, homeless crisis, and general Portland Metro issues. 


About our speaker:

James Eriksen is the Chief Deputy of the Law Enforcement Division for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy Eriksen has 28 years of experience, where he started his law enforcement career with the City of Stayton Police Department. During his tenure with Stayton Police, he worked as a patrol officer, school resource/DARE officer, detective and as a patrol sergeant. In December 2003, he started working with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. Over the past nearly 20 years with the Sheriff’s Office, his positions have included patrol, river patrol, the domestic violence unit, detectives, transit police, gun dispossession unit, training lieutenant, agency’s inspector (internal affairs), the designated Chief of Police for the City of Fairview, and currently he leads the law enforcement division. 

He was born and raised in Salem and graduated from McNary High School. After high school, James earned his associate’s degree from Chemeketa Community College and his bachelor’s degree from Corban University.  Chief Eriksen holds an Executive Certificate with the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
